Eyebright Extract
Eyebright extract (Euphrasia officinalis) is a unique and highly beneficial herbal extract, revered for its traditional use in treating eye conditions and its broad range of therapeutic properties¹. The plant is found throughout Europe, Asia, and North America. The plant’s leaves, flowers, and stems are all used to make extracts and infusions for medicinal purposes, making it a widely known remedy in traditional and modern herbal medicine. Eyebright has gained popularity in the wellness industry, especially in products aimed at supporting eye health and reducing inflammation². With its natural bioactive compounds, eyebright extract is a valuable ingredient in cosmetics, supplements, and skincare, known for its potent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial effects³.
Fish Oil
Fish oil is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, particularly eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), which are derived from fatty fish such as salmon and mackerel. These active forms of omega-3s support heart, brain, joint, and eye health. Available as liquids, capsules, or gummies, fish oil provides a convenient way to boost essential fat intake.
Omega-3 needs vary based on age, gender, and health. For instance, individuals with heart conditions may require higher amounts. It’s best to consult a healthcare provider for the appropriate dosage, as excessive intake can cause side effects.
Flaxseed Oil
In addition to healthy fats, flaxseed oil naturally contains antioxidants such as tocopherols and beta-carotene, although it can oxidise easily if not stored properly. It is commonly available in softgel or liquid form and is often taken to support heart health, skin hydration, joint comfort, and digestive wellness. With its mild flavour and clean, plant-based origin, flaxseed oil serves as a popular fish-free alternative to traditional omega-3 supplements.
Gastro-AD® Fermented soy peptide
Gastro-AD® is a food supplement based on non-GMO soy fermented by Lactobacillus strain L.delbrueckii, R-187 (commercially known as Rosell-187). Fermented soy is recognised as a healthy, nutritive ingredient, which has been part of Asian culture for thousands of years (e.g. miso, natto, soy sauce, etc.) and is associated with various health benefits. Gastro-AD® has an excellent track record of safety and effective use for managing symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
Ginkgo Biloba
Historically used in traditional medicine, ginkgo biloba is often associated with supporting mental sharpness and reducing age-related cognitive decline. It may also benefit individuals with tinnitus, vertigo, or poor circulation by promoting better oxygen and nutrient delivery to tissues. Its neuroprotective effects make it a topic of interest for
Alzheimer’s disease and dementia research.
Glutathione
It is involved in various critical physiological processes including DNA synthesis and repair, protein and prostaglandins synthesis, amino acid transport, maintaining redox balance, immune system function, prevention of oxidative cell damage, detoxification and enzyme activation⁵⁻⁷.
In human body, it exists in at least four different states, namely reduced (GSH), oxidised (GSSG), disulfide cysteine-containing and protein-bound. An interesting fact is, the glutathione in human body is constantly in flux, changing between forms and being split into its components and synthesised again. GSH is the biologically active form well known as the body’s most important antioxidant. Ratio of GSSG to GSH serves as a critical measurement of oxidative stress with higher levels of GSH indicate protection against toxins and oxidative damage while the opposite for GSSG⁸.
Green Tea Extract
Renowned for its health benefits, green tea extract supports weight management by enhancing metabolism and promoting fat oxidation. It also contributes to heart health by lowering cholesterol and reducing inflammation. Additionally, it helps regulate blood sugar levels and supports cognitive function, potentially protecting against age-related decline. These benefits make it a valuable addition to a balanced lifestyle.
Gymnema
Gymnema sylvestre, commonly known as Gymnema or “Gurmar” (meaning “sugar destroyer” in Hindi), is a woody climbing shrub native to India, Africa, and Australia. It has been used for centuries in traditional Ayurvedic medicine, primarily for its antidiabetic properties. The plant contains active compounds such as gymnemic acids, which are known to suppress the ability to taste sweetness and help regulate blood sugar levels. It also contains other beneficial constituents like gurmarin, saponins, flavones, and anthraquinones, which contribute to its therapeutic effects¹. Gymnema works by reducing the absorption of sugar in the intestines, stimulating insulin production, and potentially regenerating pancreatic beta cells². Beyond its role in managing diabetes, Gymnema has also shown promise in supporting weight loss, reducing sugar cravings, and improving lipid profiles by lowering LDL cholesterol and triglycerides while increasing HDL cholesterol.
Hop Extract
This plant has been commonly used for brewing beer and as food flavouring. Besides that, it is also believed that hop extract might offer health benefits such as anti-inflammation, anti-anxiety, pain-relieving and even anti-cancer.
